Movie week and Not Me! Monday

I think it is a good week to do movie reviews. I will do a new movie everyday, maybe even a few movies. If you want to chime in on the movie review, that's great. Or if you have watched something awesome then write your own review. WARNING: May have spoilers.

Precious: Based on the Novel "Push" by SapphirePrecious: Heartbreaking, yes. Worth all the rave, I didn't think so. My mother in law was set on seeing this movie and I heard a bit about it so I too was sucked into wanting to see it. I was disappointed, honestly. It was slow going, not really much a "movie" movie I guess. I was lead to believe it was a true story and that is what pushed me through it. Well, it's not. it is based on a book ("Push") which the author stated in an interview that the Precious character was a jumble of many teens she knew when she was a teacher. While I know things like this happen daily to young teens and it IS very sad, I just was not very keen on the movie.

The Twilight Saga: New Moon (Two-Disc Special Edition)New Moon: I believe I reviewed on New Moon after the hubs and I watched it in theaters but it honestly would deserve another review. With more money and a new director, New Moon was so much more than Twilight. (Don't be lead to believe that I didn't LOVE Twilight even though it was a bit under my expectations) the graphics where pretty dang cool, the story line was much better followed than in Twilight and big events that "us" as readers felt...I guess you could say connected to or felt strongly about, were indeed played out on screen in New Moon. all around it was a good show. Even for those that did not read the books, like my husband.

The Box [Blu-ray]The Box: When I rented the movie, my cousin (who works there) said others had bad to say about it. I did not think it was bad at all. It had a good story line, it all tied up at the end and it kept a hold of your attention. It has those weird twists that makes you say "Oh yea, this is the ending" and then wah-bam, you change your mind and say "well, hmm I guess I was wrong"

Because it is Monday I am also going to throw in my Not Me! Monday. And it goes with the movie theme!

When I barrowed Twilight from my brother, I had all intentions of returing it after 1 viewing. Of course I did, right? Well not exactly. But you will not hear me confess the fact that it is about warn out because of watching it umpteen million times. Nor will I lead you to believe that I about have New Moon memorized word for word. Nope, I am not an above and beyond Twilight saga obsessive mommy. Oh and my oldest daughter does not know all about Edward and Bella. Come on, she's only 4 and can't know about vampires, werewolves and love triangles. that has to be against my rules, right....Not Me!!

Not so simplified!

My whole family is up and down with this nasty cold that has been shuffling from one to another then back around. So as far as my getting simplified...I didn't. This few bits are the only things that did end up getting done.

Before
After

I did not get a before pic of this "catch all"
and it still seems to have too much on it,
but it works for me, for now!

Since, like Lynnette mentioned also, we are in this room daily and I try to keep it fairly clean and don't store stuff here, I may just go a head and move on. I know that I can tidy up the desk, but other than that there is not much else.

Bedroom or closet... I really have to think what one to do. Honestly we just did my room because we were tired of seeing junk, and we did the girls room when they got the new bed. Closets... well I don't have a "hall" closet or I would do that. The girls clostet is their toys and will never have order, just went through their clothes also...but the top shelf could use some working on. I think I will keep it easy on myself since girls are sick and do the top of their closet.

Blog Party!

1. What's your favorite time of the day, and why?

Morning. Early morning to be more specific. It's just me and my sleeping children and it's a great time for mommy. Like now. Husband at work, children sleeping, coffee and blog world!

2. If health wasn't an issue, what food could you live off of?

Goldfish! Do I need to go on. They are the snack that smiles back and I can not get enough of those cute little crackers.

3. If you could have one wish granted (besides wishing for more wishes), what would it be?
I would love free produce for life. We eat a lot of fruits and veggies and it tends to get pretty pricey. I wish we had a farmers market in the summer, that would pretty much ROCK!

4. What's one thing that you get teased about a lot?

I try to use, I guess you would call them, phrases. Puns maybe. Examples: American as apple pie, Clear as mud, Better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick, and so on. But frankly, they just never come out at the right time nor with all words correct. I just want to be quick with come backs and saying's that fit.

5. If you could choose one movie, book, or TV show to spend your life in, which would you pick? What type of character would you be?
Oh man, that is tough. I am a twilight fan and Edward is a hottie but I am more the olden day type of folk. I love the 60's and 70's and the bee-bops so I am going to go with a "time" instead of a specific book or movie and say the 60's and 70's.

6. If you could have one talent that you don't already have, what would it be?
Inventing. I would love to be an invention geek! One of those hopefuls and have products that make you say "Why didn't I think of that?".

7.If money were no object, where would you go on vacation?
Wow, I am not sure I can pick once place. Somewhere over seas. Spain, Egypt, Australia. I would even love to make it to Alaska or Hawaii.

8. If you were an awesome singer, which genre would you sing? Again, going back in time, I love oldies (but goodies). Rolling Stones, Aretha Franklin, Beatles, The Who, Jackson 5, all those great songs these and so many others that make up our history of 60's and 70's!

9. If you could have a $10,000 shopping spree to one store, what would it be?
Cabelas! They have something fun for the whole family. We went there this weekend and I could easily spend $10,000 there!

10. If you could live in any point in time, when would it be?
Well I think by now you know, 60's and 70's!

11. If every outfit in your wardrobe had to be one color, what would it be?
Is clean and stain free a color. I would have to go with olive green. It's such a great color (and looks good with my eyes.)

12. If you were one of the seven dwarves, which one would you be?
Today, I am going with Sneezy. I think I am allergic to Utah! Ever since getting home I am all runny and sneezy!

13. What's the last album you listened to?
I can't even recall!

14. What's something we'd be surprised to know about you?
Out of immediate family, I have been in jail the longest. 3 months. Ok not JAIL jail, but juvenile detention center when I was 15. It was a few things pilled up together and the rebel in me thinking I was indestructable. Think again! Everything changed once I was out and I have not been in trouble since.

Not Me Monday

Another Not Me Monday hosted by Mckmama

When we bought our guinea pig I had no idea the accessories these pets need and love. We re waiting for payday so I have to improvize on some things. A toilet paper roll makes a great hay feeder that is fun to get the hay out and roll around. These animals are tunnel lovers but I did not make him one out of a cigarette carton.

(FYI: I do not smoke in house)

These little animals can be quite the messy ones. That paper bedding they use, boy can it travel around their cage then around your home. I made a "pee pad" I suppose you would call it and it has worked out well. Today I made another but I had no intestions of a tutorial for a guinea pig forum.... nope nuh-uh!

(If you want link comment and I will attach later)

I did not just write a whole Not Me about a guinea pig!

Parent Teacher Conferences & then some

Parent Teacher Conerences.
Thursday we had a a meeting with Brianna's preschool teachers. I could stop at "She is on track for her age." Which I am thrilled to hear. Brianna just makes the deadline of September 15th for Kindergarten so her teachers did pose a concern for that. They ran through a few different results of previous children going now versus going in a year. I have always pushed for waiting a year but my husband was set on her going this coming fall. My thought are (and have been) that she will be 4 when she starts school then turning 5. I am not fully comfortable with that. After hearing from the teachers, my same concerns, I believe Calvin is pushing for keeping her out until the following fall. Few things that I believe are making him think differently are things like her being behind on driving when everyone else will be, graduating when she is 17, and the home hitter (for me especially) is if she does happen to fall behind, they no longer hold children back. they just push them off to the next grade, ready or not. We want the best for her. In May we will meet again with her preschool teachers. They are sure she will be on track and it will then be the toss up of her age at that time.

Church.
We made it to church this weekend. I expressed my feelings about going (better yet, not going) and he agreed that we need that friendship with the Lord and need the guidence to get there from our church, pastor and friends. After all, a personal relationship with Jesus changes everything.

Thought of the week.
Live your life so you don't have to hide your diary.

...

There is a strong need to shake the milk before use. What, everyone doesn't do this?

The hanging coffee cups should be taken down IN ORDER! Give this memo to my hubby, please. Oh and they look pretty when all facing the same way.

When you take your shoes off the shoe shelf, simItalicple, when you're done put them back.

There really is a reason that I use round edged bowls, I just don't care to share.

I do not feel the need to clean out my jeep. Warm or cold weather, I just don't care to! Even though there are about 4 inches of junk and garbage... okay maybe when we thaw out I will do something about the junk yard accumulating in there.

Pajamas are my wardrobe choice.

I hope you feel like you know me that much better!

First and Then some!

First
I have started part time baby sitting for a chick I literally have known since I was a pip squeak! What a joy it is to have our children grow up and play together! It's been a really good day. Today is our first day and he has been awesome. We will call him K. until I talk to his mother about blogging about him. Altho I have pictured him on here already, oops! When K's mother left this morning, he started getting pretty upset about it. Well I held him, and after the door shut he was not having it so I asked if he wanted a cracker... silence! Yea that's right, I rock. haha! K snacked on a cracker along with the girls and the day has been bliss since! Besides MY child. Addisyn has a little discomfort of K being here, but soon I hope she will get over it and not be as jealous and also not want to be held all the time. It's not like he is a baby baby, he is actually older then Addie, but she is just not sure around having another child in the home I suppose.

Not Me! Monday. @ MyCharmingChildren with Mckmama
I have learned that quitting smoking will probably be the hardest thing I will ever do. If you have been following, you know that my husband is also quitting tobacco (chewing). Well I will be honest, I was having a real bad time with the cravings, and to deal I did not leave my (irritated from quitting tobacco) husband to hang with the kiddos as I duct into our room for a snooze. Yea I would never!

Then
This past Friday we went out bow hunting for antelope. It was hubs, Addie and myself, Brianna was with her grandmother. While I wish Brianna was with us, she tends to be very needy while we hunt. When we hunt she is in the front, on my lap, on his lap, tired, hungry, has to pee, needs to.... okay you get the idea, and the fact that I was quitting smoking , it would have been unbearable for me to handle her needs haha. I love my child and of course would have loved her to go with us, but that trip, it was probably for the best!

NOT ME! Monday!

Children can be so unpredictable. You think a long day at the park and in and out of the swimming pool at grandmas would make any child have a good night sleep, well not my child. At an early 3am I peek from under my covers to my almost 4yr old wide eyed and hungry. Being a great mother I did indeed get out of bed and wash some grapes for her to munch. No one would ever let their child fend for them selves into the fridge and eat unwashed grapes. Not Me!

Being a house wife is a very privileged job. My hubby could send me to work, and I am sure has thought about it. It is fair that he makes the money to pay the bills and keep family housed and fed and I stay home with kids, clean, make dinner, and all other house duties. So when I say that my hubby comes home to a messy house, unfolded laundry and sometimes has to cook, you would know I was fibbing, right?!?

When your children watch T.V you monitor what they watch. Most people do at least. I mean there are just some things that are not for children. Your children hears "Are you ready kids?" and they wonder into the room, knowing Sponge Bob is about to start. If your child came to the sound of "insert Law&Order tune" is there something wrong with this!?! Law&Order is not my daughters favorite show, nor does she love Olivia Benson and actually knows her real name is Mariska! Not Me! My Daughter!

((Please note, my daughter is very advanced for her age, and she knows that it is all fake! If it's a story I find would not be in her best interest, trust me I do change the channel. Please no bashing))

You can head over to Mckmama's blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

Not Me! Monday!

Now who would intentially leave their T.V. set to cartoons on a beautiful Sunday morning, to entertian your to loud, hungry, thirsty, feel like they are super annoying children while you try to recover from the night before...Not Me!

Then there are those people who give their children a friend spam sandwhich or spam and crackers for breakfast... Not Me!

There is NO way that I allow my almost 4yr old to leave the house in clothes she wore to bed ((and then some)) and just pull her matted, ratted, outta control hair into a messy, very messy, pony/bun thing.... Not Me!

NOT ME Monday!

Altho MckMama didn't mention this today on her blog, I will still follow thru with posting mine.
When it comes to children there is nothing they won't try once. They do not have any regrets, and they can care less about taste.... or so it seems!

There was this-

I did not ignore the fact that my husband had givin my 3yr old coffee with supper nor did I ignore the fact that my 10month old daughter snagged the cup from the table and proceed to let most drain out of her mouth on a onesie I had just taken tags off of!!
